Not so fun surveys

Ok, I went and answered a crap load of questions on a survey and at the end of it you can choose a gift you want to receive. I went for the $100 Visa Gift Card. It said I had to complete one of the offers so I chose to do the new membership to NetFlix.

I wrote down all my login info, account information etc. I only had to do a two week free trial and make sure I cancel in the time frame given. So, I go through the trial period and actually liked NetFlix. So, I decided to let it charge me for one month. But I went ahead and called the company to see what I could do to receive the card but keep my membership. Low and behold they told me I didnt complete the survey. That I had to do 3 different offers! NO, I dont think so, it only said one! Then the lady decides to tell me that at the bottom of that page it said I had to go to page two and pick another one.
Now, that is deceiving to me and I wouldnt recommend people taking these little tests because they are all just a scam. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt but in the end, all the terrible things you hear about them are true.

Online Surveys

A friend of mine from work told me about a site called MyPoints.com. Evidentally, you sign up and when they send you surveys you can click to take it and then delete it and you will get 5 points each time you do it. After you get so many points, you can redeem them for gift cards to a variety of restaurants and stores. Shes been doing this for quite some time now and once a year turns in her points for the Gift cards.

So, when she asked if any of us in the office would do it, we said sure. We get enough spam mail so whats a little more.

Well, I signed up and get just a few emails from Mypoints to participate. But boy have I gotten a ton of others. Just for grins I decided to take a survey and you are suppose to get a $100 visa card and after you fill out the survey you have to participate with one of the companies that are sponsoring it. So, I went with NetFlix. You join, do their 2 week trial period and then cancel and they will send you the gc.

I ordered my first movie, How to eat fried worms. I know, why would I want to see that movie...well, I just remember that book from when I was a kid and I just loved it. I ended up watching it this morning at 4am with my son and now he wants to continue using NetFlix since it was so easy to use their services. So, yes, they got me. I decided I want to continue using their services. My question is, I cant find anywhere on the site that shows they contact the survey company to let them know you participated in the program. Is this just a scam or do you actually get the gc they claim to send? If anyone has done these type of surveys please let me know your thoughts on them and if you think they are worth doing.
