I have been fortunate enough to fly quite a bit and I have to say, it took me awhile to learn a few things that I think everyone should know about when taking to the friendly skies. Here are three tips that I am suggesting, I will put out others in future posts.
You want to make sure you dont have the little air vent over your seat directly on you. The germs going through that plane are going to be coming right down on you and its almost a sure fire way to get sick. Every time I would fly with that on me, I ended up sick. Now, I turn it away from me or leave it off and I havent been sick since.
Another thing I try to do is wipe off my tray that is on the back of the seat in front of me. If you think about it, there have been kids slobbering on it and god knows what else. Most people dont carry hand sanitizer or wipes, but if you can pick up a small bottle or travel size wipes from walmart, target or any store that carries them and just throw them in your purse so you have them, you will be right on track to avoiding the nasty germs that will make you sick.
One last thing I would recommend you not doing is using the pillows they provide. I had read once that they tested those pillows and have found feces, vomit and all kinds of bacteria on them. Think about it, they only get washed MAYBE once a week. Your sharing a pillow with a bunch of people that have fallen asleep with their mouth open, snoring and drooling on it...YUCK!
