Vegas Trip!

I know its been a few months since I went but I am just getting around to blogging,....sorry.

Ok, so a friend and I went to Vegas in August, oh what a time we had. I have a friend that likes to bet on roulette number 17 every time he is in a casino. So, before I left he gave me $100 to bet on his number. Well I decided I was going to do $50 when I arrived and $50 when we left. As soon as I walked into the Stratosphere I put $50 down and won $1750.00! I was so excited and my friend was freaking out. She and everyone I spoke to said...dont tell your friend that you won, just keep it...well, I couldn't do that, its not my nature. But what did piss me off is that I asked if I could put another $20 down for myself because it was a $50 max bet and they told me no....jeesh, I even told them it wasn't for me but do you think they would listen...LOL. Well, I told the b/f what happened and he actually let me keep half...that was so awsome. So I kept gambling and over 4 days I ended up winning on number 17 six times! Over $2500....yeaaaaaa!

So I have to say, that was one of my favorite times in Vegas. However, I recently visited Miami and have to say, the clubs and people in Florida are much more fun and prettier than those in Vegas.....I really love Miami!

Christmas shopping

Tis' the season! Oh boy have I learned something new. I know, people have been doing it for years but to me I finally broke down and tried it this year for the first time.....on-line shopping! It is soooo great! I thought it would take away the greatness of going out to the stores , listening to Christmas music playing, looking at the decorations and just getting into the spirit. Boy was I wrong! I didn't realize how much stress it was to deal with the traffic, wait in long lines and walk through a store trying to find something that you think that special someone may like. This way, I can browse on-line and order what I want and then it arrives just days later...its great! Sometimes you can even get things shipped for free. I found on Overstock.com that they are only charging a buck for shipping...shoot, I would spend more than that on gas just to get to one store. I have found myself less stressed and more in the spirit of the holiday because of it. I'm able to play Christmas songs on XM radio as I'm browsing and just relax for a bit if I get tired of looking and then go back to it. If you have not tried it yet, you should really give it a shot, you may be pleasantly surprised:)

Southwest vs Northwest

Well, this past week was quite an experience. You know, I have traveled quite a bit over the past few years but never in my life have I ever been so upset as I was last night.

Yes, I am one that takes Southwest a lot and you hear the jokes about like "if you take a cheap airline then you can expect bad service" or that they always have delays. Well you know, I can't say that about them at all. Sure, they have had their share of delays, but what airline doesn't. But last week I flew down to Fort Lauderdale Florida and it was a great flight, on time, comfortable and I like their new set up so you don't have to stand in line forever to get a good seat. They have good leg room, funny flight attendants and offer snacks for free on every flight and a tad more for the long ones. Shoot, when you get a free flight they also send you coupons for free drinks...I think its great and it is reasonably priced.

Then there is Northwest, I had gone from Florida to San Jose Cali this week and on the way back I had to take Northwest (keep in mind, it wasn't my choice). I have never seen an airline with crappier service. I literally had a panic attack on the plane. On this particular jet what ever you do don't sit in row 9, I swear I didn't have 6 inches between me and the seat in front of me. I was squished like a can of sardines and the tray when down would go up to my stomach and I couldn't put anything on the tray without it getting ready to spill because of it hitting the seat. Keep in mind, I am not fat and if I were there would be no way in hell that I could have sat there. To top it off, my flight cost twice as much as it would on SW, smaller seating area and they charge $5 for a snack pack. Now I'm sorry, but if your charging over $200 for a one way ticket on a 6 hour flight you better be offering a snack for free....but not Northwest....all I can say is if anyone puts down SW to me ever again, I will recommend they try Northwest sometime and if they do, I think they will think twice about putting down SW again.....for me, SW is the only way to fly!
